EDWARD MCKNIGHT KAUFFER (1890-1954) [COTTON LABELS.] Group of 6 labels. Circa 1920s. Each 6 1/4x4 1/4 inches, 16x10 3/4 cm. Condition varies, generally B+. Paper. Perhaps one of Kauffer's least known projects were the labels he made for bales of cotton. Designed for Steinthal & Co. in Manchester, they were, in effect, mini-posters and share many of the colorful design elements of his larger works. Posters & Publicity p. 77.
